lntraHealth International ( ) is currently seeking candidates for a new USAID Activity. USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will support the Government of Uganda (GoU) and key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality health services in 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved populations. All positions are located in areas therein indicated.
Nutrition and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Officer (4 vacancies -, Karampta, bukedi, Teso and Bugisu Clusters)
The Nutrition and WASH Officers will oversee the implementation of the facility and community based nutrition, WASH and Early Childhood Development (ECD) activities within the targeted districts in the cluster. S/he will work in close collaboration with the public and private health facilities in the clusterto ensure nutrition and WASH service integration into routine health sen/ices at both facility and community level; and that technical approaches for scaling up nutrition, WASH and ECD services building are in synch with the RHITES-E approved work-plan and the national nutrition policy guidelines to ensure sustainability of sen/ices. The Nutrition and WASH Officer will ensure that all supported nutrition and WASH interventions in the cluster are in tandem with the required national continuous quality improvement guidance.
Requirements: Minimum of bachelor's degree in nutrition. Masters in nutrition and/or dietetics is an added advantage with at least five years of implementing nutrition programs at facility and community levels. Knowledge of nutrition and ECD national technical guidelines and best practices. Experience working in health and nutrition quality improvement programs including Nutrition Assessment, Counseling, and Support (NACS) and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF).
