lnterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization established in 1988, duty registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU is involved in programs geared towards the protection and improvement of lives of disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda. lnterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of; Human Rights Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health (HlV&A|DS; Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), Environment and Disaster Management. In partnership with UNHCR the UN Refugee agency, lnterAid Uganda seeks to recruit suitable and qualified persons to fill the following positions based at the Head office and Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement on temporary basis.
Job Title: Assistant Education Officer
Report to: Education Officer
Duty Station: Kampala Head Office.
Contract Duration: 2 (Two Months). Renewable Subject to availability of funds and performance. Role Summary

To provide support to the Education Officer in planning, coordination and promotion of easy access of Education for Refugee children in schools.

Person Specification
  • A suitable candidate for the position of Assistant Education Officer should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any other related discipline
  • A minimum of Two years relevant work experience in implementing Education programs in an NGO environment is preferred
  • Good understanding of Uganda‘s Education system
  •  Ability to understand and interpret the current education policy of Uganda and properly align it to the refugee communities
  •  Computer literate like in MS word, power point and excel.
  • Good team player.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to work under multicultural environment and setting.
