Title: Programme Officer (Advocacy)
Reports to: Programme Manager
Job Purpose
To provide technical support to CEHURD's Advocacy Programme. This is a dynamic, and highly demanding position that requires the candidate to work with CEHURD‘s Advocacy team on issues of the right to health. The responsibilities for this position include: Undertaking policy research and analysis in the areas of law, public health and human rights; Drafting advocacy documents including: petitions, policy briefs, briefing papers, internal memorandums, and other campaign documents; Promoting a rights based approach in programming work on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights; Engaging policy makers on issues of health and human rights including keeping abreast with relevant and topical issues in the field; Developing and implementing programme proposals, work plans, budgets and writing project projects.
The Officer will be ‘expected to have the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelors‘Degree in Law, Human Rights, Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Communications or any related field.
  • Has at least three (3) years’ experience working on advocacy issues preferably in a busy NGO or a research Agency;
  • Post Graduate qualification in any of the fields above will be an added advantage
