Currently, Oxfam is implementing a humanitarian response to address the humanitarian needs of South Sudanese refugees hosted in West Nile sub—region. Oxfam’s areas of intervention include WASH, Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL), Gender and Protection. Oxfam works with local partners as a strategy for building humanitarian preparedness and response capacity within the organisations.
Oxfam is seeking to recruit qualified persons to join our dynamic, innovative and committed humanitarian response team. Some of these positions are for immediate placement while others are tor potential projects pending confirmation of funding.
Public Health Engineering Team Leader
To be based in Yumbe and Lamwo, the successful candidate shall take leadership of the PHE sub-sector and work. S/he will monitor water and sanitation activities, Support partner and Oxfam teams to conduct needs and technical assessments, design, and implement water and sanitation projects, support partner agencies to use participatory approaches, design and implement the trainings for both partner hygiene promotion volunteers and identified committees taking into account gender, protection, HIV, the environment, and other important cross-cutting concerns in programme design, implementation, and reporting, contribute towards planning and proposal writing in order to provide clear objectives and establish indicators for monitoring and evaluating the programme; Ensure that work aims to meet Minimum Standards and adheres to 0xfam’s emergency guidelines and protocols and, enhance the WASH capacity of selected humanitarian partners to respond to this current refugee crisis or to the potential future refugee crisis and to increase the resilience of the host communities; Support WASH technical coordination and relations with district, OPM, UNHCR and othe stakeholders in Arua Yumbe and Adjumani. Ensure Field representation of Oxfam to Government and partners ensuring that the influencing role is kept high.
