Currently, Oxfam is implementing a humanitarian response to address the humanitarian needs of South Sudanese refugees hosted in West Nile sub—region. Oxfam’s areas of intervention include WASH, Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL), Gender and Protection. Oxfam works with local partners as a strategy for building humanitarian preparedness and response capacity within the organisations.
Oxfam is seeking to recruit qualified persons to join our dynamic, innovative and committed humanitarian response team. Some of these positions are for immediate placement while others are tor potential projects pending confirmation of funding.
Public Health Promotion Team Leaders
To be based in Yumbe and Lamwo, the successful candidate shall provide leadership in carrying out technical assessments, design, and implement water and sanitation projects that are socially acceptable, environmental friendly and economically viable taking into consideration the broader perspective of Public Health work in emergencies. The lob holder shall coordinate other WASH sector actors in designing, implementing and reporting Hygiene Promotion activities and, ensuring that the construction of emergency water systems, using surface water and possibly ground water, follows technical designs; liaise closely with the Public Health Promotion Team throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of the WASH Programme; contribute towards planning and proposal writing in order to provide clear objectives and establish indicators for monitoring and evaluating the programme; Ensure that work aims to meet Minimum Standards and adheres to Oxfam’s emergency guidelines and protocols and, enhance the WASH capacity of selected humanitarian partners in the West-Nile region to this current refugee crisis or to the potential future refugee crisis and to increase the resilience of the host communities; Support public Health Promotion technical coordination and relations with District, OPM, UNHCR, UNICEF and other stakeholders in WASH.
