Currently, Oxfam is implementing a humanitarian response to address the humanitarian needs of South Sudanese refugees hosted in West Nile sub—region. Oxfam’s areas of intervention include WASH, Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL), Gender and Protection. Oxfam works with local partners as a strategy for building humanitarian preparedness and response capacity within the organisations.
Oxfam is seeking to recruit qualified persons to join our dynamic, innovative and committed humanitarian response team. Some of these positions are for immediate placement while others are tor potential projects pending confirmation of funding.
WASH Advisor
Based in Kampala, the successful candidate will provide overall technical supervision and support to the response program and representation in key emergency WASH programming activities. He/she will play leading role in the development of Oxfam’s humanitarian WASH strategy in Uganda and, support, manage and oversee all aspects of Oxfam’s humanitarian WASH activities in Uganda including those directly implemented and those in cooperation with partner organizations. This person shall support and oversee activities undertaken by Oxfam PHEs and PHPs and other relevant Oxfam WASH personnel. S/he shall undertake WASH needs assessments and evaluations, and closely monitor performance of all WASH activities. These activities include coordinating and integrating WASH activities with other programmes and contributing to the development of WASH funding proposals. The holder shall actively participate in WASH coordination meetings and work closely with UNHCR, OPM and other relevant WASH actors to facilitate inter-agency coordination.
