The Cooper Motor Corporation Uganda Limited (CMC) is a Multi-Franchise Motor Operator dealing in sales and after sales services of transportation vehicles including Ford Ranger, Suzuki, Mazda. Eicher. MAN and agricultural equipment including the New Holland. The Company wishes to invite applications for the following positions:
Position: Service Manager
Duty Station: Kampala-Uganda
Reports to : COUNTRY MANAGER
Job Purpose:
To achieve and exceed the business objectives and service standards of pans sales in the locations assigned
Key Result Areas
  • Development, implementation and achievement of annual budgets, business objectives and KPIs
  • Achievement of sales, gross margin and net profit objectives
  • Management of productivity and efficiency performance
  • Control of Technical quality, Health and Safety.
  • implementation of service marketing initiatives and related soft products including Service Agreements, Menu Pricing, Campaigns etc.
  • Liaison and negotiation with Principals on Service issues
  • Liaison with Sales personnel to ensure service functions are sufficiently prepared for new product introductions.
  • Maintaining regular contact with major customers
  • Monitoring competitor activity
  • Leading and motivating staff to provide the highest quality service product and customer support
  • Receipt and dissemination of Technical and product information from Principals
  • in conjunction with Training Manager. ensure competence planning and training delivery to meet business requirements
  • Develop positive teamwork and effective communication between all divisional service locations‘ in conjunction with Warranty Department, ensure all warranty-related procedures and KPIs are reviewed and achieved.
  • Ensure Service Division receivables are maintained within Exploring new service business opportunities for the division Company guidelines.
Experience, Qualifications and Training Required
  • Degree/ Diploma in Auto Engineering
  • Profit centre management Man management, Customer approach to problem solving, commercial acumen
  • Awareness of latest vehicle technology, good communication skills and leadership.
  • Leadership, Analytical, Planning, organising. Team Building, communication and application of new knowledge and new concepts,
  • PC skills, customer care; repair& trouble shooting of modem automobile, marketing workshop business.
  • 5 years in with complete profit centre responsibility.
  • Experience in automotive service environment.
  • Experience in customer facing operational management.
  • Experience working as a workshop manager. at a reputed car distributorship
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Sound knowledge on handling web Based Applications
  • Competent to handle SAP developments Competencies
  • Understands and guides complex repairs of modern cars.
  • Ability to achieve business & CSI objectives in a high pressure / stress environment.
  • Capable of Leading a great team towards achievement of business and C S i objectives
  • Ability to analyse business performance, identity areas of potential and create operationally effective solutions.
  • Effective with high energy and motivation
  • Understands the latest technology of vehicles and how it impacts both the business and the customer
