THETA-Uganda is a registered national non- governmental organization dedicated to improving the health of Ugandans by promoting colloboration between the Tradition and biomedical health Systems. THETA-Uganda has been at the forefront of fighting HIV and in Uganda working at both the National, District and Community level. THETA's Mission is to improve health of the most vulnerable members of society by promoting health and preventing disease through capacity building, advocacy and research in partnership with traditional and biomedical health care systems and communities.
THETA -Uganda in collaboration with World Education inc. / Bantwana iWEl/Bi the financial support from USAID are implementing a BETTER OUTCOMES PROJECT for Children and Youth in Eastern and Northern Uganda. The purpose of the project is to improve access to comprehensive services across the continuum of HIV care and to help vulnerable children and care givers prevent and respond to HIV, violence and other adversities that impact child wellbeing in Northern Uganda, including the District of Lira, Dokolo, and Kole. Post: 2 Technical Officer Early Child Development/ Parenting
Reports to: District coordinator
Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Early Child Development, Education, development studies, Social science or related fields
Minimum Experience:
3 years’ experience in OVC Programming that target vulnerable communities mainly orphans and vulnerable children and households
Work station: Lira /Dokolo District
Terms of Service:1 Year Contract subject to renewal upon statistitacifory performance
Major Roles and Responsibilities
  • Train and supervise SINOVUYO facilitators
  • Participate in mapping of the Hot Spots
  • Conduct Quarterly intergenerational out reaches
  • Support VSLA+ and Youth Groups to deliver parenting sessions
  •  Establish ECD Groups
  • Over-see and lead implementation of Parenting and ECD activities
  • Supervise SINOVUYO sessions
  • Document and follow up parenting and ECD best practices.
