THETA-Uganda is a registered national non- governmental organization dedicated to improving the health of Ugandans by promoting colloboration between the Tradition and biomedical health Systems. THETA-Uganda has been at the forefront of fighting HIV and in Uganda working at both the National, District and Community level. THETA's Mission is to improve health of the most vulnerable members of society by promoting health and preventing disease through capacity building, advocacy and research in partnership with traditional and biomedical health care systems and communities.
THETA -Uganda in collaboration with World Education inc. / Bantwana iWEl/Bi the financial support from USAID are implementing a BETTER OUTCOMES PROJECT for Children and Youth in Eastern and Northern Uganda. The purpose of the project is to improve access to comprehensive services across the continuum of HIV care and to help vulnerable children and care givers prevent and respond to HIV, violence and other adversities that impact child wellbeing in Northern Uganda, including the District of Lira, Dokolo, and Kole. THETA is an equal opportunity employer and is seeking for qualified, self-motivated and competent individuals to fill the following position;
Post: Finance and Administration Assistant
Reports to: Senior Accountant
Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Business Administration with accounting or finance major from recognized institution or related field;
Minimum Experience: At least 2 years‘ experience in financial and administration management in a reputable NGO and Good computer literacy
Work station: Lira with frequent travels to Kampala
Terms of Service: t Year Contract-renewable subject to performance & availability of funding
Major responsibilities:
  • Receiving and welcoming visitors at the offices, taking applications , invoices, and any other documents as maybe delivered
  • Help Senior Accountant in compiling, validating the beneficiaries names and contacts.
  • Responsible for maintaining the reception area in a well-organized
  •  Managing communication in and out of the office and scheduling appointments.
  • Ensuring proper filling system at the office; set up and update administrative files
  • Writing and sharing minutes during staff meetings
  • Proper management and maintenance of assets, management of inventory, stocks and monthly reconciliations.
  • Management of store supplies and stationary stores ensuring proper control and accountability as per THETA policies
  • Maintain an up to date stores ledger
  • Verification of items delivered to the store
  • Any other duty that may be assigned.
