Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Tasked with developing, discussing, implementing and monitoring the Uganda Operations and Technology strategy
  •  Establishing and maintaining best-practice O and T functions; Lead and coordinate all O and T functions in Uganda including a strong oversight of outsourced / offshored pocesses, with a continuous focus on improved efficiency and quality.
  •  Actively engaging with businesses and functions to provide strategic direction from an O and T perspective; prioritizing technology support for the franchises and maintaining a strong focus on the delivery of high-quality customer services
  • Ensuring an effective and metric based resource management and monitoring established and it’s appropriately aligned with the requirements of the businesses, franchise and TTS Ops functions.
  • Encouraging, guiding and leading the efforts of teams in the country in exploring and developing key themes within overall O and T as well as TTS Ops functions
  • Maintaining a strong control and compliance culture and environment throughout the O and T organization of the country
  •  Maintaining permanent controls readiness and obtaining satisfactory audit ratings across all auditable O and T entities, and contributing to successful audits for businesses and functions that rely on O and T as an enabler.
  • Minimizing operating losses through proactive issue identification and mitigation.
  •  Supporting country financial and resource goals and actively delivering on O and T expenses and Full Time Employees.
  •  Developing a senior team of direct staff that is best-in-class in their respective key roles; and managing a diverse pool of O and T human resources.
  •  Representing O and T in relevant country committees, such as the CCC, BRCC, ALCO, Third Party Management Committee, etc. Participate in Legal Vehicle Governance process and proactively escalate any potential franchise issues to relevant country, cluster and regional management.
  •  Work closely with Regional and Cluster seniors to ensure alignment of local strategy with regional strategy for both businesses and functions.
  • Take responsibility for local Regulatory reporting and the Regulatory control matrix (RCM) including; identifying and implementing all changes to laws/new regulatory requirements related to business area.
  • Oversight of MCA process related to O and T entities, conduct regular reviews of effectiveness of Process – Risk – Control structures defined in MCA.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Citi Bank Senior Country Operations Officer/Treasury Trade Solutions Client Operations Head job placement should preferably hold a University Honours Degree
  •  In-depth knowledge of cash operations, trade operations, branch operations, cash and tellers functions, FX/MM and loan products
  •  Internal and External Client Interfacing Working experience and a good understanding of banking operations and banking products.
  • Excellent working knowledge of internal compliance requirements and MCA processes
  • Extensive knowledge of the continuity of business processes
  •  Very good knowledge of Flex cube and other core Citi systems
  •  Excellent Leadership and People Management Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
