John Snow, inc. (JSI), a leader in the field of international publichealth, is currently recruiting positions for the Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango (RHITES-N, Lango) Project, funded by the USAID. The Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project will improve the use of integrated health services in Northern Uganda‘s Lango region and strengthen the health system to sustain gains made by earlier projects. The Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project will contribute to improving key population-based national health indicators; build the capacity of the Ugandan government to carry out a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV epidemic, while also improving TB, malaria, nutrition, MNCH+A,FP and WASH outcomes. JSI will work with Ugandan stakeholders to design and implement health system strengthening strategies to scale up high-impact, evidence-based interventions at the national, sub-regional, district, and community levels. Interventions will include VMMC, virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, antiretroviral therapy, and condom education and distribution, JSI will focus where the greatest impact can be realized, with a priority on hard-to-reach and high-HIV-prevalence locations.
The Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project is a live-year contract. The JSI team includes Amref Health Africa, Africa CUAMM, Another Option, and The Medical Concierge Group.

Position Description
The Finance Officer is a full-time position and will be based in Lira,Uganda. S/he will set up and maintain the JSI financial accounts and operations systems; maintenance of an up-to-date Quick book database; preparation of expenditure projections, reporting and expense monitoring. The Finance Officer reports to the Finance Manager
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the day—to-day management oi the project's financial records, payments, and receipts. This management includes the following:

  • Processing all accounts payable on a timely basis;
  • Maintaining a system of tracking on all accounts receivable
  • Entry of all project transactions into Quick Books;
  • Processing payroll under the Finance Manager on a monthly basis;
  • Minimum Bachelors, Preferred Advanced degree in a ļ¬nance,accounting or business-related field;
  • At least 5 years relevant experience tit financial management and/or accounting in an NGO setting;
  • Relevant experience with USAID-funded programs and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations strongly desired;
  • Expenditures Analysis reports is strongly desired;
