(JSI), a leader in the field of international publichealth, is currently recruiting positions for the Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango (RHITES-N, Lango) Project, funded by the USAID. The Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project will improve the use of integrated health services in Northern Uganda‘s Lango region and strengthen the health system to sustain gains made by earlier projects. The Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project will contribute to improving key population-based national health indicators; build the capacity of the Ugandan government to carry out a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV epidemic, while also improving TB, malaria, nutrition, MNCH+A,FP and WASH outcomes. JSI will work with Ugandan stakeholders to design and implement health system strengthening strategies to scale up high-impact, evidence-based interventions at the national, sub-regional, district, and community levels. Interventions will include VMMC, virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, antiretroviral therapy, and condom education and distribution, JSI will focus where the greatest impact can be realized, with a priority on hard-to-reach and high-HIV-prevalence locations.
The Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project is a live-year contract. The JSI team includes Amref Health Africa, Africa CUAMM, Another Option, and The Medical Concierge Group.

Position Description
HIV Advisor for Testing and Treatment

The HIV Advisor tor Testing and Treatment will be responsible for leading implementation activities that improve access to and quality of HIV testing services (HTS) and HIV treatment (ART)services in the Lango sub~regi0n. This will include building the capacity of technical service delivery to staff at district level and health facilities, civil society organizations and community levelvillage health teams (VHT) and community health extension workers (CHEWs). S/he will work closely with the MOH to ensure that HIV testing and treatment activities are inline with government of Uganda policies as well with evidence based, international standards, and that these policies are carried out at all health facilities the RHITES N

  • Lango districts.
Main Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical leadership in HIV testing and treatment among an integrated package of services for RHITESN-Lan o;
  • Develop innovative approaches to test, link, initiate, retain andattain viral suppression tor patients enrolled I-IIV programs;
  • Support HHITES-N, Lango teams in the design,‘implementation, and/roll out of HIV testing and treatment services, at community and facility levels;
  • Contribute to and disseminate training materials that are updated regularly based on
Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in medicine, nursing or public health, or equivalent.and significant level s of training in HIV prevention, care and treatment;
  • At least 5 years of working with public or private health facilities to improve HIV Testing and Treatment services in
  • Uganda, USAID-funded project experience is a plus;
  •  Demonstrated ability improving quality of HIV Testing and Treatment services at scale;
  • Ability to travel regularly to monitor district, site and community level HTS and linkage to treatment activities;
