John Snow, inc. (JSI), a leader in the field of international public health, is currently recruiting positions for the Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango (RHITES-N, Lango) Project, funded by the USAID. The Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project will improve the use of integrated health services in Northern Uganda‘s Lango region and strengthen the health system to sustain gains made by earlier projects. The Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project will contribute to improving key population-based national health indicators; build the capacity of the Ugandan government to carry out a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV epidemic, while also improving TB, malaria, nutrition, MNCH+A,FP and WASH outcomes. JSI will work with Ugandan stakeholders to design and implement health system strengthening strategies to scale up high-impact, evidence-based interventions at the national, sub-regional, district, and community levels. Interventions will include VMMC, virtual elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, antiretroviral therapy, and condom education and distribution, JSI will focus where the greatest impact can be realized, with a priority on hard-to-reach and high-HIV-prevalence locations.
The Regional Health integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango project is a live-year contract. The JSI team includes Amref Health Africa, Africa CUAMM, Another Option, and The Medical Concierge Group.

The Malaria Advisor will support the RHITES-N Lango technical team, districts and health facilities to plan, coordinate and monitor implementation of sound Malaria interventions aligned to the Uganda Malaria Reduction 2014 — 20211 strategic plan including promoting case management (diagnosis, treatment and prevention) and prevention efforts through implementation strategic objectives and interventions. The Malaria Adviser will work with Ministry of Health (MoH) and relevant stake holders to to improve the quality of health care services in target districts.Provide leadership in the area of malaria lo meet country-specific data with the context of the RHITES, N. Lango Project;

  • Represent RHITES, N Lango project at global malaria advisory_ And technical meetings;
  • Actively participate in coordination of implementation of The Malaria case management including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention activities in RHITES-N Lango districts;
  • Participate in MOH-National Malaria Control Program planning and coordination meetings and activities;

  • PhD or MPH with 7 or more years in Malaria, Public Health or other related fields
  • Knowledge of current global malaria protocal
  • Knowledge of Malaria and Health issues.
