The American Refugee Committee (ARC) works with its partners and constituencies to provide opportunities and expertise to refugees, displaced people and host communities – to better survive conflicts and crisis, and to rebuild lives of dignity, health, security and self-sufficiency. ARC presently works in and with partners in ten countries globally. ARC has been operational in Uganda since 1994, and today has a strong and committed team of over 130 regular, full time national staff and partners. The overall goal of the Uganda program is to improve the well-being and self-reliance of the displaced refugee populations by ensuring the provision of basic services (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Community Services; SGBV/Protection; Child protection; Mental Health & Psychosocial support), currently in six refugee settlements - Nakivale, Oruchinga, Kyaaka II, Kyagwali, Bidi Bidi and Palabek - in Uganda. ARC is looking for competent, qualified, self-driven and committed individuals to be part of and contribute to accomplishing our ambitious and exciting 2018/2019 programming – several challenging full time positions, across the various refugee settlement sites as well as at the ARC main office – Kampala, Uganda:
Job Title: Field Operations Officer (1 position)
Reports to: Clinical Psychologist / Team Leader
Location: Kyaaka II

Job Summary
The Field Operations Officer will be responsible for the overall procurement & logistics focal person for the field site. S/he provides logistics support to program, including procurement, assets and supplies, and fleet management.

Minimum qualifications
  • A minimum of a University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or similar degree.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience working in program and/or Logistics and Operations in a busy humanitarian organization
  • Good command of NGO and donor procurement, operations and logistics procedures and practices required.
