BACKGROUND
Lira Regional Referral Hospital is a 400 Bed Hospital situated in Lira Municipality in Lira town and serves a catchment population of about 2.3 million people. It is a referral facility offering both specialized and general services to the districts in its service area. The Hospital with support from the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango Project seeks to recruit personnel in different fields to fill in the following positions:
Job Title: Clinical Officer (3) U5-MED-1
Report to: Senior Clinical Officer
Location: LRRH

Duties and key responsibilities;
• Providing clinical care to HIV patients in the clinic including: management of opportunistic infections, initiating patients on ART, managing complications of ART, monitoring response to treatment.
• Maintain accurate medical records and other data collection as required for monitoring, evaluation and research
• Participate in CPD activities, including mentorships, teaching and training of clinic staff in all aspects of HIV related treatment and care.
• Participating in weekly Clinic Team Meetings
• Participate in monthly program and Staff Meetings, and Meetings on request.
• Participating in external trainings and presentations as required, both as a Student and as a presenter.
• Conducts group and individual health teaching for patients, families, and community. Monitors and records patient and population health status
• Document nursing actions and activities.
• Preparing and submitting reports.
• Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, skills and experience
• A diploma in Clinical Medicine will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years’ work experience gained through serving within a government institution or PEPFAR funded program
• Possession of a valid registration certificate from Allied Health Professional Council.
• Excellent communication or interpersonal skills is a must.
• Ability and willingness to reside in and work within Lira district.
• Previous experience in an HIV/AIDS related field will be an added advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-point
