Position: Protection and Gender-Based Violence Coordinator

Job Summary
The Protection and GBV Coordinator will be responsible for the programmatic coordination and timely implementation of activities in GBV prevention and response, mainstreaming and capacity building in gender and protection. Additionally, s/he will be responsible for the quality implementation of the Women Leadership in Emergencies, Gender in Emergencies, and VSLA components, and ensure practical capacity building of consortium staff and partners in these subjects. S/He will be responsible for the proper functionality of the CARE Women Centers, ensuring supplies/resources are requested on a timely manner and are efficiently utilized. S/He will work closely with the MEAL team, APEAL and other ECHO consortia staff (MHPSS and MPCT) in Kyangwali to ensure synergy in implementation, timely and quality reporting, accountability, and documentation of learning. S/He will engage proactively and represent CARE at field level in coordination platform related to protection and GBV, and collaborate effectively and maintain good working relationships with UNHCR, OPM, protection actors, and the communities we serve. S/he will supervise 4 CARE staff directly and local partner staff indirectly, and will report to the Kyangwali Area Manager administratively, with technical supervision from the Protection / GBV Advisor.
