job Summary
The Sexual, Reproductive Health and Gender Based Violence Officer (SRH/GBV Officer) will be a self-driven team player with innovative skills in implementing Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights approaches and ensure that the Minimal Initial Service Package (MISP) for RH, is integrated into the SRH/health activities. The MISP includes; prevention of maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity through provision of clean delivery kits, referrals to existing quality emergency obstetric care (Em0C) services and family planning services, HlV/AIDS prevention activities, prevention and management of sexual violence, and planning for comprehensive SRH services. S,/he will lead or support assessments, strategy development, project design, project management and implementation, training, and coordinating groups such as the health cluster, RH working group, and GBV working groups. He/She will be responsible for developing, implementing and analyzing health assessments, develop and implement work plans among refugee and host communities.
S/he will facilitate and conduct information, Education, and Communication (IEC) sessions and develop context friendly learning materials on access to GBV and SRH services. S/he is responsible for writing and documenting case stories of lessons learnt, especially on transformed male youth and adults, supported by the project. THE SRH/GBV Officer will work closely with the Senior Initiative Manager, the Various Specialists and Colleagues in implementing the SRH and GBV components of the WAY program in the eight districts of West Nile and Northern Uganda namely; Arua, Yumbe, Moyo, Adjumani, Amuru, Agago, Kitgum and Lamwo. This position is based in AMURU but the officer can be relocated/ transferred to any of the eight (8) districts depending on need. The SRH 8 GBV Officer MUST have a valid riding permit and can ride a motorcycle.
