Title: Director Programs
Department: Executive Management Team (EMT)
Based at: Head office
Reports to: The Country Representative! Sr. Reproductive Health Technical Advisor.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to provide strategic guidance to program design, execution and review in line with PSI Uganda and national health policies. As an Executive Management Team (EMT) member, this position's primary responsibility is to ensure organizational effectiveness through leadership of Programs, Regional Operations, Strategic Information & Learning functions and the MaNe Project. The position also contributes to fundraising efforts, maintaining good relations with donors, government and other external stake holders..

Your Contribution
• Provide strategic leadership and technical oversight to all PSI Uganda programs and projects;
• Explore potential programs areas and opportunities for innovation, design and review program strategies to ensure alignment to national policies and donor commitment;
• Initiate and develop concepts that promote PSI Uganda as a key partner at national level committees and foster good relationship with stakeholders;
• Initiate, develop and monitor fundraising and build capacity of relevant staff in proposal writing;
• Initiate, develop and review the SMART annual objectives for his/her team that are linked to platform minimum standards, strategic plan and donor deliverables;
• Initiate the PSI Uganda external relations advocacy strategy and monitor its execution;
• Develop systems and procedures for tracking and appraising his/her team;
• Initiate, review and monitor risk management systems, policies and procedures for his/her team;
• Develop and review systems, policies, operational plans and guidelines for the organization

Academic Qualifications
Master's in Public Health or Medicine or Health management or International health or any other related degree;

Experience
Must have at least ten (I0) years of project management experience of public health projects, five (5) of which must be in a senior level management position.

Key Personal Competences
• Have exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills;
• Demonstrated experience leading large donor supported programs;
• Good technical knowledge of the health areas and national health context and ability to mobilize funds;
• The ability to perform internal control functions to manage day to day operations of the project;
• The ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers;
• Should be an entrepreneurial team player who can multitask and be able to work under pressure;
• Have excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills;
• Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team;
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, proactive and a team Leaden
