USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services — North Lango, is a 5 year USAID funded regional project meant to contribute to improving key population based national health indicators; build the capacity of the Uganda Government to carry out sustainable and locally driven response to the HIVEpidemic while also improving TB, Malaria, Nutrition, Maternal Neonatal Child and Adolescent Health and Water Sanitation and Hygiene outcomes.The project will work with relevant government and non-government stakeholders to scale up high impact evidence based interventions at National,Regional, District and Community levels to realize the project goal. To make this happen strong effort will be made to increase uptake and ensure retention and improved outcomes for all conditions. Districts health teams will be supported to plan for, implement and supervise in an integrated manner all referral, linkage and retention activities to ensure quick initiation in to care, continuity of care and an effective community facility linkage that works to promote bi-directional referrals between communities and facilities including private health providers.
Doctors with Africa CUAMM a member of the John Snow, lnc, led consortium implementing USAID RHITES-N Lango is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the following position:
Project Officer-Linkages and Referrals (Lango).

Function: To map, assess capacity, build capacity of community facility linkagestructures and processes in place, Work with DHT and CDOs to strengthencommunity based structures that will create demand for health and nutritionseniice, strengthen client appointment and tracking systems at the supportedhealth facilities; support the functionality of CHEWS, VHTs, MNH Peer Mothers,Adolescent champions, Male action groups and Family support groups within the supported districts, Support implementation of the community referral system; use of quality improvement approaches in the referral‘and linkage system and other community activities. Together with the DHT, train and Mentor health workers on Ministry ol Health tools and processes for linkages and referrals and support DHOs and District biostatistician to ensure that all data on community interventions are timely reported and accurately ted into the DHlS2. Ensure proper documentation of work done achievements realized, lessons learnt, and best practice throughout the program implementation. s/he will report to Senior Advisor— Linkages and Referrals.

Job requirements: Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work and social administration, community development, community health, development studies or related courses. Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Sociology or Community Health would be an added advantage. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in HIV/TB/MNH/Malaria/Nutrition related community work with government institution or NGOs involved in community work. Excellent communication skills and strong inter-personal skills, Fluency in written and spoken English and a working knowledge of Luo. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with frequent travel to the field. Have solid computer skills. Knowledge of the relevant Uganda national health policies, strategies and structures.
