BACKGROUND
The USAID funded Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services-North, Lango Project (RHITES-N, Lango) is operating in the nine districts of the Lango sub-region of northern Uganda (Alebtong, Amolatar, Apac, Dokolo, Kole, Kwania, Lira, Otuke and Oyam).
RHITES-N, Lango will increase the effective use of sustainable health services in the region. The Project is led by John Snow, Inc. in partnership with African Medical and Research Foundation (Amref), and Doctors with Africa (CUAMM), The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG) and another Option. The project will contribute to measurable improvements in key Ugandan national health indicators (HIV; tuberculosis [TB]; malaria, maternal, newborn, and child health [MNCH]; family planning [FP]; water, sanitation, and hygiene [WASH]; and nutrition).
The USAID RHITES-N, Lango Project, in partnership with Ministry of Health, Apac District Local Government wishes to recruit the under listed staff to support Apac Hospital to run ART clinic. The successful applicants will be recruited on contract basis and will be remunerated according to the Government of Uganda pay scales.
JOB TITLE: DATA CLERK (2)
SCALE: U7-LWR
REPORTS TO: Data Officer
LOCATION: Apac Hospital.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Data Offi cers to quantify the tools needed to ensure sustained data collection at the health facility.
• Engage with the data offi cers to ensure that best practices of medical records storage and management are implemented.
• Ensure that data on additional indicators outside of DHIS2 reporting system are collected in time.
• Manage the HIV care data captured on patient forms during patient visits, ensuring it is transcribed to pre-ART and ART registers and updated in the
• Uganda EMR in time.
• Work with the data offi cers to prepare HMIS reports and submit them in DHIS2 in time.
• Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly supplementary data not reported in DHIS2 and submit them in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Unit in time.
• Ensure that confi dentiality of data collected and stored is maintained at all times.
• Ensure safety of all equipment in the data room.
• Perform basic data analysis on data from HMIS data.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications:
• At least a certifi cate in Statistics, Medical Records, Computer Science or related field or qualifi cation. Must be computer literate and with speed for data entry
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in handling medical records
• Previous experience of working with international NGOs, MOH, and public health facilities will be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Practical experience in working with routine health information systems at the facility (including RRH), district or national level
• Experience in supporting HIV / AIDS and TB data management
