Background:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is a Ugandan not-for-proit organisation whose mission is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development. IDI has ive operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment;
Training, Research, Laboratory services (including the CAP-certiied IDI Core Lab) and Outreach.
In order to meet the ever growing human resource needs and deliver the people agenda, IDI seeks to recruit a competent and highly motivated individual to ill the position of a Compensation & HRMIS Specialis. Reporting to: Compensation & HRMIS Manager
Role Deinition:
To develop and implement strategies for compensation, reward and human resource management information systems that enable timely and accurate processing of compensation and beneit packages as well as fast and accurate retrieval of human resource information. .

Key Result Areas
• Manage the HR Management Information System and ensure timely input of data and fast retrieval of information.
• Prepare an accurate monthly staff payroll and ensure that the inal payroll is submitted to the Accounts section for review in line with IDI’ s policies and pr ocedures.
• Track, compute and accurately implement gratuity payments for staff and ensure an up-to-date gratuity register is in place in accor dance with the IDI policy.
• Enroll staff on both medical and group personal accident insurance schemes and maintain an up to date r egister
• Act as the main link between staff and compensation and beneits service providers ensuring a speedy and accurate response to staff needs.
• Prepare and submit accurate inancial reconciliations for medical insurance and GPA expenses and ensure that the necessary inancial recoveries are made for both individual staff (thr ough the pa yroll) and f or Projects.
• Develop and provide quarterly reports regarding the compensation and beneits environment in IDI to inform decision making.

Person Specifications
• Background in Accounting (B. Com Accounting, BSc Accounting etc) with a Post Graduate qualiication in Human Resource Management is highly preferred
• Or an advanced qualiication in Human Resource Management, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology, Business Psychology, or any other ield related to compensation & beneits management with experience in payroll management (salaries and gratuity in a large organisation).
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• At least 4 years’ proven experience in operating HR Information Systems including payroll management, gratuity processing and managing staff Health and Group Personal Accident (GPA) insurance.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision is an added advantage
• Ability to keep and maintain conidentiality of data and departmental security at all times.
• A good listener with empathy and compassion.
